Pisa Galileo Galilei Airport is the main airport of Tuscany and is served by several airlines operating hundreds of daily and weekly flights to national and international destinations.

The airport is approximately 20 km from Livorno. You can reach the Congress venue by taxi or by train. Taxi are located near the “Arrivals” exit of the air terminal. If there is no taxi out there, you may call the non-stop radio taxi service by dialing +39 050 541600.
There is also a train station at Pisa Airport, but a change is required in Pisa Centrale. The train schedule is available on the site of Trenitalia. Recall that in Italy, before getting on the train, you must stamp your ticket by using those small yellow machines available within the station.

Once you are at the airport, you may reach Livorno by train from Florence’s main railway station, Firenze SMN (Firenze Santa Maria Novella). The airport is situated on the north-west suburban area of Florence, just 4 km from the city centre. It is a 25 minutes ride by shuttle bus Volainbus (for further information please visit: www.ataf.net) operating between the airport and the central railway station. Tickets can be bought on board or at the newspaper stall or at the Bookshop: it costs € 5.00. Taxi can be found outside the airport: with a 15 minutes ride you reach the city centre at a conventional price of € 20.00.
The main train station is Livorno Centrale, situated on the eastern edge of the town; it is on the Pisa-Livorno-Rome line. The train schedule is available at the site of Trenitalia.
The Grand Hotel Palazzo (congress venue) is approximately 7 km from the Livorno railway station. Once you are at the Livorno railway station you may take a taxi or the public transportation (bus number 1), to get to the congress venue.

No.1 bus runs every 15 minutes from the station (every 30 minutes on Sundays and on public holidays); a single ticket per journey (valid for 70 minutes from when you validate it on the bus) costs Euro 1.20.

From the north: A15 highway (Parma-La Spezia) or A12 highway (Genoa-Livorno-Florence).
From the south: A1 highway as far as the Firenze nord exit, then the A11 highway towards Pisa, then the A12, leaving at the Livorno exit.
Other main access routes: the Florence-Pisa-Livorno (FI-PI-LI) dual carriageway, and the Aurelia.
